Burned By Lightning, - From Mr. T. Britton we learn that the barn of Mr. Edmund Schofield, who resides two miles from the city on the Washington Avenue road, was struck by lightning during the storm of Friday night, set on fire and entirely consumed, with all its contents, except three horses which were gotten out. The barn was full of hay, grain, farming implements, &c. Total loss estimated at $600. The property was insured in the "Mississippi," and Mr. Schofield was surprised to learn that the policy was utterly worthless. This should be a lesson to men to insure only with responsible parties and in responsible offices.
