Rolle Charged With Murder Of Ingraham

Fred Rolle, 33, of 1016 Howe Street, was charged with murder Saturday in the Christmas Eve shooting of Elbridge Ingraham, 39, of 305 Catherine St.

Peace Justice Roy Hamlin said he issued the murder warrant after a coroner's inquest Friday afternoon. No bond was set. Rolle is in the county jail.

Ingraham was pronounced dead on arrival at the Naval Hospital early on the morning of Dec. 24.

Hamlin said he had been shot once in the chest by a bullet from a .32 caliber revolver.

An argument in the Silver Slipper, Julia Street bar, preceded the shooting, according to Hamlin. Rolle was the bartender at the time and Ingraham was a customer. The shooting occurred about 1:10 a.m. Dec. 24.
