Full Text

From Texas.

We are gratified to find the following paragraph in the Galveston Gazette of the 17th inst:
"Rain! Rain!!—By the mails received this morning, we have exchanges from almost every quarter of the State, and we are glad to learn that the drought is at an end. Showers have fallen in every section, and the prospect for the crops is brighter in consequence. It may be that some districts have not yet been visited by rain, but if there are any such they must be limited. All our accounts go to show that the rains have been general, and we believe that at this time enough has fallen for present agricultural purposes. Heavy hail showers had fallen in the west, and done some damage to the young corn."
