Advices from Bombay mention another battle between the British and Sikhs, in which the latter were entirely defeated. From the 6th to the 12th there were constant skirmishing. The Sikhs retreated to the Chenab, which they were prevented from crossing by the Bombay Division, under General Whish. On the 13th, the two divisions of the British having effected a junction, Lord Gough attacked them near Goojerat. The victory was decisive. The Sikhs fled, leaving their guns, ammunition and camp equipage in possession of the conquerors.
