Full Text
No man ever founded a better scheme of education: a good education and a good trade the best qualifications of a useful citizen and statesman.--Who can tell the good that will result to the world from this noble institution what new lights of science burst from the obscurity of the wilderness; what Franklins, Washingtons, Shermans, may be destined to adorn its coronet, what poets, philosophers, statesmen, heroes, shall be drawn from poverty to shine abroad upon the whole earth?--In vain the eye glances into the distant vista: the more we contemplate, the more divinely generous is the work. Blessed be the memory of its founder.
