Now Second Lieutenant
Ann Arbor. Apr. 24-At graduation exercises this week at Lubbock, Tex. advanced flying school, Charles E. Bowling, Jr., 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Bowling, 1901 Ellsworth Rd., received his commission as second lieutenant and his wings.
Lt. Bowling began his training at Kelly Field in January, 1942, and was also stationed at Cuaro, Tex., and Randolph before being sent to Lubbock Field for the final months of advanced instruction. He was a graduate of University High School in 1937 and attended Cleary College in Ypsilanti. His wife is the former Marcia Van Don Bosch, Ann Arbor.
