Contracts To Be Placed In Hands of Individual Farmers by Next Monday, Dean Schaub Says, That Being Date United Campaign In State Begins.
Raleigh, June 21-(AP)-More than 75 leaders of agricultural organizations of North Carolina met here today and started the machinery moving for reducing the State's cotton crop by 363,000 acres under the Federal reduction plan.
Dean I. O. Schaub, head of the State College Extension Service, and leader for the State, outlined the plans but details concerning the contracts have not been received and could not be studied.
United agricultural forces of the State will start the cotton reduction campaign June 26 and the drive must be completed June 29.
The college extension service, State Department of Agriculture, vocational education department, North Carolina Cotton Cooperative, State Grange and other organizations were represented at the meeting and a number of individual bankers and farmers also attended.
Dean Schaub told the representatives that limited information and lack of contracts would probably hinder the movement a little, but that

District meetings to outline the reduction plans to local workers will be held tomorrow at Charlotte, Rocky Mount and Fayetteville, and these will be followed by county and community meetings to lay active plans for the campaign.
