Sidewalk Work to Be Finished by September

According to John A. Carini, foreman, work on the sidewalks on the south side of Hebron Avenue is expected to be completed before the end of this month. Because considerable filling was required on the west end of the project, construction has been somewhat retarded he said. The fill was drawn by the town truck and the walk is being laid by WPA laborers.

First Selectman Lewis W. Stevenson said the contractor providing materials and machinery is laying the walk for about 10 cents per square foot. When the walk is completed, however, the property owners will be assessed for the cost on a running foot basis.
