It is quite evident that a number of the whig papers of this district, are desirous that Judge Dawson should withdraw from the canvass, so that they might run Mr. Simrall, or some other good whig, against Gov. Brown, on the Union ticket. But the Judge thinking that if the late issues can be kept up, he will stand a chance for election, has all of a sudden, recovered from "severe family afflictions," and published a catalogue of appointments to address the people. He had as well save his wind and dimes.
