Resolve, by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri. two thirds of each house concurring therein, that the following amendments be, and are hereby proposed to the constitution of this state.
1st. The Judicial powers as to matters of law and equity shall be vested in a Supreme Court, in Circuit Courts and in such inferior tribunals as the General Assembly may from time to time ordain and establish.
2nd. The Judges of the Supreme Court and the Judges of the Circuit Courts shall be chosen by joint vote of both houses of the General Assembly; shall respectively hold their office for the term of six years, and shall at stated times receive a compensation for their services to be fixed by law.
3rd. The office of chancellor is hereby abolished; and the Supreme Court and Circuit Courts shall exercise chancery jurisdiction in such manner and under such restriction as shall be prescribed by law.
4th. The Governor shall receive a compensation for his services to be regulated by law, which shall not be diminished during the term for which he shall be elected.
5th. No person holding an office of profit under the United States and commissioned by the President, shall during his continuance in such office, be eligible, appointed to, hold or exercise any office of profit under this state.
6th. The Auditor of public accounts, Secretary of State and Attorney General, shall each be appointed by joint vote of both houses of the General Assembly.
