The vocal numbers on the programme commencement night were charmingly given by the pupils of the school. Under the instruction of the accomplished musician, Mrs. Irma McVoy Egan, vocal music is being thoroughly taught in all the city schools. The gratifying results of her training were shown on this and other public occasions. Mrs. Egan expresses the soul of the music in her work.
APPRECIATION.
The high school students, faculty and friends are indebted to Hutchinson Brothers for the handsome pianos used at the commencement exercises. Prof. Byrd took occasion to express his appreciation at the close of the exercises for this spirited act on the part of this popular firm.
