The Oregon Cooperative Grain Growers association is making an extensive drive for members in Umatilla county this week with the result that a corps of eight is here or soon to arrive with a view to work in all sections of the wheat region of the county.
George C. Jewett, general manager of the organization, is here and will hold a series of meetings in the county, starting at Athena this afternoon.
The complete schedule of meetings is as follows: Athena, June 12, 2 p. m.; Milton, June 12, 8 p. m.; Helix, June 13, 2 p. m.; Pilot Rock, June 13, 8 p. m.; Pendleton, June 14, 2 p. m.; Echo, June 14, 8 p. m.
Farmers, whether or not members of the Oregon Cooperative Grain Growers, are invited to attend the meetings as well as business men and other interested persons.
The following solicitors and other workers are here or enroute to this county: R. R. Howard, A. W. Davis, A. S. Dunlap, H. O. Barnes, all solicitors; while Ralph H. Campbell, another solicitor is soon to arrive; C. A. Barnes, field organization manager, Edgar L. Ludwick, assistant secretary-treasurer and organization manager, to arrive Wednesday, and Mr. Jewett.
