Mrs. Grace Crosby, teacher of stenography and typewriting for the WPA, and Mrs. Leonora Valdez, head of the literacy classes, in Key West, returned over the highway last evening from the working conference for adult educators and nursery school teachers at Camp Roosevelt, Florida.
The meetings began on August 15 and concluded August 21 with 245 teachers in attendance representing educators from 93 towns in the state, and were the most absorbingly interesting I have ever attended" said Mrs. Crosby.
Most of the speakers at the conference were from the University of Florida or other institutions in the state, and also those holding foremost positions in the ranks of officials from the WPA administration.
Mrs. Crosby said it was one of the most delightful meetings she had ever attended, and was glad to announce that Mrs. Iva T. Sprinkler, state director of adult education, has planned to be in Key West some time during the week.
Announcement was made this morning by Mrs. Crosby that the classes conducted by herself and Mrs. Valdez, will resume their activities this evening at the usual hour.
