Full Text

NORTH CAROLINA.

The election in this state for Governor and members of Congress, was held August 1st. We have received returns, not full however, from seven counties. It shows the following aggregate:

Hoke, Dem. 3,501; Graham, W. 1,504

In 1842, the democratic majority in these counties was 2,413. In allusion to the present result, the Tribune says: "This would seem to show a Whig gain, but not correctly. The full vote of New Hanover will add fully 400 to Hoke's majority, while the balance of Northampton will not do much for Graham." In 1842 the majority for the Whig Governor was 4592.
