A Smorgasbord was given April 1 in honor of the new pastor of Bethesda Baptist church, Rev. Jerome S. Tate, at the parsonage, 2737 11th Ave. So., Minneapolis. Those present included Messrs. and Mmes. W. A. Lee, Philip Blackwell, Eddie Jefferson, W. G. Renfro, Charles Lawson, and the Mmes. Ione Brown, Dessie Gresham, Dorothy Moore, Martha Lee, Mae Marshall, Timma Leah Riess, Cora Lane, Sarah Benson, Emma Helm, Gertrude Vinegar, Marguerite Washington, Hazel Merrill, Lillian Lee, Daisy Tresvan, Annie Moody; Rev. J. J. Clayburn and the Messrs. Harry Jackson, W. L. Turner, Willie Gardner, John Armstrong, John Glanton and the Misses Barbara and Adrienne Merrill, Wilma and Minerva Johnigan.
Mrs. Geraldine Lee, chairman of the affair, said everyone enjoyed themselves. She was appreciative of the cooperation and support given the event.
