Rev. Mr. Simmons gave the citizens of Bristol a very able lecture on "Dante" The lecture was an able production and was evidently the work of much thought, and was delivered in a style few can equal and too few appreciate. On Monday evening, Feb. 1. Mr. Leonard Lee, of Kenosha, gave a concise and instructive narration of his travels in Europe, at the Hall of Bristol Grange 102, to a very appreciative audience which at its close expressed entire approbation, and at the same time gained the consent of Mr. Lee to continue his subject at the same place on Thursday evening, 18th inst. All went from the Hall feeling well rewarded, and it is hoped that an increased interest will prove to the speaker that his efforts to instruct met a cordial response from those who avail themselves of the pleasure of hearing him. Both young and old learn from these public discourses from practical men in an evening what has cost months, years and a life time of laborious research, thought and treasure. Remember the time, Thursday evening Feb 18, at 7 o'clock, at Bristol Grange Hall. Proceeds for the Library.
