BOSTON, APRIL 12.

Yesterday arrived at this port, the regular trading ship Minerva, Capt. Clements, 30 days from London. The political news that we have been able to collect is contained in the following extracts:

A letter from a gentleman of respectability in London, dated in March, says—" I have not much information to convey to you. The Old World is quite in a new state. England is solely occupied in self-defence, for violating the treaty of peace, which she ought to have fulfilled. We are daily threatened with invasion; and as our first military and naval characters allow that is practicable, it appears most probable that Bonaparte will make the attempt, when he is thoroughly prepared. After what he has accomplished, who can determine the result? The nation is in military array, and London is more like a garrison than a commercial city. Amidst all this, the king is again in a state of insanity.

" I always rejoice in your national prosperity; and here, we think you the freest, the most happy people on the globe. Your President and his administration have the applause of all ranks, both in England and throughout Europe."
