Bardstown. August 17.

GENERAL ELECTION,

Col. Christopher Greenup, elected governor without opposition.

Gen. John Caldwell, from every information we have been able to obtain, is elected lieutenant-governor, by a large majority.

Representatives to Congress.

Gen. Walton, Col. Sandford, John Boyle, esq. Capt. Fowler, and Major Bedinger—The three former were re-elected without opposition.

From the first district we are unable to pronounce with certainty, but from every information col. Lyon is elected.

Aug. 24 We have not been able to collect a correct statement of the polls for a member to congress in the first district. But from the best information. Matthew Lyon is elected by a majority of about 400.
