right back of us, and it was handy to run into. Any other time when we were shelled he would stop to dress, but this time he did not. When he got 50 feet from his cot a big eight-inch shell struck it and left nothing but a big hole eight feet by 15 feet. He was quite near it when it exploded, and believe me if the sea was not between France and America he would have gone all the way home. We had to laugh.
I don't write very good as my hand is still sore. I guess you can see the difference in my writing. I will write more when I get back to my company again if there is any of it left. It is some time since I saw Dick, but I know he is well and so am I. Love to all,
