7,000 COLLEGE STUDENTS
REGISTER FOR DEFENSE

Tallahassee, June 16. - About 7,000 Florida college students and 600 faculty members have registered for voluntary defense work.

Dr. Harold R. Richards of Florida State College for Women, chairman of the college and university department of the state defense council, said about 70 per cent of the students and 80 per cent of the instructors have registered. About the same percentage of other college employees signed up.

The college registration was handled directly by the various college defense units, and the registration blanks will be sent to the counties in which the students live.
