April 5. Verbal accounts from London, to Jan. 16, are, that finally, after having been kept a profound secret for a long time, the disastrous expedition at TOULON was fully known, and had caused John Bull to groan and swear and dance most vehemently; the mortification of the beef-eaters of old England was so great, that to revenge themselves, they nobly in a respectable mob, approached lord Howe's house, and threw stones at his windows!--Heroic BRITISH mode of ascertaining the FREEDOM and DIGNITY of the nation!
