Mrs. Sherad is a most progressive and wideawake teacher. One who exemplifies the best in the teaching field educationally, morally and culturally. She is imaginative, versatile, creative, sympathetic, tolerant and understanding.
She is genuinely fond of children and untiring in her efforts to guide and encourage our youth in reaching their maximum potentialities.
Mrs. Sherad is the recipient of an A.B degree from Clark College and is a candidate for the M. A. degree from Atlanta University in June, 1961.
She is a member of the Pilgrim Baptist Church working closely with the youth department. The Georgia Avenue teacher of the year is also a member of the YWCA PTA of Booker T. Washington High School and a very active soror of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority.
She is affiliated with the Gate City Teachers Association, the Georgia Teachers and Education Association, American Teachers Association and the National Education Association.
Because of her many contributions in the total program of Georgia Avenue, it is with pride that we recognize Mrs. Margaret Sherad, the mother of two daughters, as our teacher of the year.
