Shown above is a photo as 'Ike' Owens was presented the award for 1948 as the 'Young Man of the Year'. The event was held Sunday at the Ol' Timers club rooms, 22nd and Broadway, by the Ringside A. C. which gives this annual award to some outstanding young man of the district. Pictured above left to right are Pete Schiralli, co-sponsor of the event as he watches with his brother and co-sponsor Rocco, on the right as Ralph Metcalf, principal speaker, second from right presents 'Ike' with his trophy.
