RICHMOND, April 2.

Extract of a letter from Philadelphia, dated March 25.

"Nothing more has yet transpired in congress since the President's singular message. It has been said, that he received on Thursday last some other dispatches, but I cannot answer for the truth of the report. Whether he has or has not, we may see plainly that he has determined on the plan of giving congress nothing but what he thinks will shew them the worst side only, and tend to irritate and provoke to violent measures."
