Nome Junior Police held their regular monthly meeting Saturday evening at the City Hall. It was a very enthusiastic meeting under the guidance of Junior Police Chief Robert Summers and supervision of Director George R. Goshaw.
As the next meeting, on May 14, will be the last one until September, special music for it is being arranged by the junior chief. Also planned are five boxing bouts of three rounds each, and members have been selected for this first sporting event.
After the meeting the J. P.s were given marching drill by Summers on First Ave. This is in anticipation of taking part in future parades. The boys did exceptionally well at this first out-of-door drill.
Later, they enjoyed ice cream cones at the Glue Pot.
This coming Saturday the Junior Police Rifle Club will have a chance to improve their target shooting at the National Guard Target Range. This will be under the direction of Lieutenants Ellis and Manton, who give freely of their time for the benefit of this active group of Nome boys.
