DRIVE FOR MEMBERS
The Minneapolis Urban League, a Community Chest agency, has launched its 1953 membership campaign under the chairmanship of Board member, George W. Robitshek.
Other members of the Membership Committee are: Mrs. Howard Darnell, Archie Givens, Mary LeRoux, Mrs. Jeanne Buckney, Mrs. Williard Merrill, John Warder, Mrs. Will Jones, Mrs. Philip Von Blon and Mrs. John McHie.
Membership in the League entitles persons to participation in the oldest interracial social agency, which has been working for the improvement of the living and working conditions of the Negro for 43 years at the national level and 27 years in Minneapolis.
Shelton B. Granger, Executive Secretary, stated, "The Minneapolis Urban League has always felt that membership, representative of the entire community, is essential to its work.
"Our goal, this year, is to maintain the present number of members and gain a minimum of 200 new members."
Memberships can be obtained through any of the members of the committee or through the League office, 510 Northwestern Federal Bank Bldg., At. 1412.
