Forty Episcopalians from all over the eastern section of the United States stopped here on the Princess Louise Tuesday evening. The tour was sponsored by the Episcopal Church's missionary magazine "Forth." and was under direction of the Rev. Mr. E. C. Bowyer, rector of the Church of the Ascension, St. Paul, Minn.
Members of St. Philip's parish met the group at the boat and welcomed them to Wrangell. An automobile cavalcade had been organized which took the visitors about town, Shakes Island, and out the road, allowing stops for picture-taking.
Those who drove were R. Borkgren, Mrs. John Byrd, Mrs. Thomas Charlton, Neil Grant, Kenneth Lewis and Mrs. Opal Lowney.
Fr. Hugh F. Hall, pastor of St. Philip's said he picked up the stragglers.
Following the tour of the town, all guests were brought to the Parish Hall where a brief word about the parish, its history, its work, etc., was given by the pastor. This concluded with prayers and several hymns, all participated in by the entire congregation. After the blessing, the Rev. Bowyer, speaking for the guests, thanked the parish, particularly the Women's Auxiliary under the leadership of Mrs. Morris Larson, president, for the welcome and hospitality.
The group then left for shopping in the local stores and were met again at the boat by members of the parish to bid them goodbye and Bon Voyage.
