Will Be Known as "Garden City of Twin Counties" in Future
It was announced at the Better Homes Show that Mrs. Charles Maag, of South Milford, was the winner of the slogan contest conducted by the Milford Business Men's Association. The winning slogan was "Garden City of Twin Counties." This slogan is to be the official slogan of the City of Milford. The winning slogan was picked from over two hundred entries because of its attractiveness and because it particularly fitted the city. If it is given much thought it is seen that it has much true meaning and it is one that cannot be applied to any and every town or city. The committee picked by the association to judge the entries and to pick the winner was composed of a business man, a newspaper man and an advertising man.
The members of the committee were: Harry Mulholland, G. Franklin Waples and Col. Theodore Townsend. It is hoped that this slogan will be whole-heartedly adopted by all citizens of the City of Milford, and that the City of Milford shall become widely known as the "Garden City of Twin Counties."
