The Hixson Will.—The last chapter in the famous litigation was written Tuesday. It will be remembered that the effort by the adult parties, who undertook under "the forged will" to re-open the case in which the will was adjudged to be a forgery and void, failed. In the early summer two of the children of J. W. Hixson, one an infant, the other just having attained his majority, filed a bill under the statute, in such cases provided, and sought to re-open the will controversy. These children, under the alleged will, claimed legacies of one thousand dollars each. The administrator answered the bill, denied the allegations and averred that they had no rights that could be sustained; and further said that though perfectly satisfied that no recovery could ultimately be had, to end strife and settle up the estate, prevent delay and further costs, costs that, even if successful, would equal the supposed interests of the complainants, he tendered the sum of money claimed by the complainants in full satisfaction of their demands. This offer by the administrator was concurred in and adopted by Jas. Wm. Foster, James V. Brooke and R. Taylor Scott, for themselves and in behalf of the parties represented by them, but resisted and objected to by Mr. Jno. H. Alexander, as attorney for Mrs. Amanda Klepstein and others, but accepted and ratified by the court—and decree taken, disposing of the whole matter. All that now remains to be done, is that collections be made and paid over to the parties according to their several interests. Thus terminated what promised to be a long and protracted suit, and thus ends "the Hixson will case," hereafter to be classed among the "causes celebres," of Loudoun county.—Loudoun Mirror.
