The neighborhood of Lavaca river, in Jackson county, was under great excitement and distress Wednesday night, owing to the sudden and unexplained disappearance of the little seven-year-old son of Mr. Dock Chivers. He was supposed to be lost, and quite a number of persons were out all night hunting the little fellow. This morning one of his uncles found him all safe and sound in Edna. He had obtained a good supper and bed, and had slept well all night. The little fellow had taken some little offense at home, and without any ceremony started just before night to go to a sister in Lavaca county. some thirty or thirty-five miles distant.
