FBI Probes Death Of Police Victim

MIAMI -(INS) The Miami office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Monday entered into the investigation of the death of a Negro who was killed by a Homestead policeman.

The victim, Emmett Jefferson, was killed by policeman Paul Minnick Christmas day when he allegedly attempted to flee the scene of an auto accident.

The FBI entered the case to see if Jefferson's Civil Rights were violated.

A grand jury failed to indict Minnick after he was charged with first degree murder.
