Soviet Union Might be Ready for Another Missile or Space Launching

WASHINGTON (AP) The Soviet Union may be getting ready for another missile or space launch firing into the Pacific Ocean in the near future.

The Navy said today that three Soviet missile instrument ships were sighted Tuesday near Midway Island, apparently heading southeast to the impact area about 1,000 miles southwest of Hawaii.

The ships should reach the area about Saturday.

The 44,000-square-mile area has been used for missile test firings from points in Southern Russia over a range of about 8,000 miles.
