TWO AUTOISTS TERRORIZED BY FIREWORKS

PLASTER CITY, June 25. - Fire crackers shot by two boys camped on the desert near here Friday night terrorized two motorists and started a rumor of hijackers operating along the San Diego highway.

H. S. Hall and Herman Huer, en route to El Centro from San Diego, told officers someone shot at their car as they traveled the highway two miles east of Plaster City at 11 p.m. Friday. They heard the report and saw the flash, they said.

A search of the area revealed George Stetson, 14, and Kenneth Bausell, 15, sound asleep in an improvised camp near the highway. They told deputy sheriffs they shot off the fire crackers as a pre-holiday celebration of the Fourth of July.
