BUTTE IS CONSIDERING
STREET PARKING METERS

Parking meters may be installed on
Butte streets if city council committees
react favorably to a proposal made by
a manufacturing concern, Chief of
Police W. H. Breen said

The offer has been made to install
the meters without cost to the city.
One-half of the revenue would go to
the city and one-half to the manufac-
turers until the meters are paid for.
After that the city would retain all
revenue.

The machines would be placed at
20-foot intervals for parallel parking
and 10-foot intervals for diagonal park-
ing, permitting one-hour parking for
five cents.
