THE WELCOME GROUP
A Weaver District Mine That Is Developing Satisfactorily.
C. B. Genung is in charge of the work for General Manager Wells H. Bates of the Oro Concentrating company in the development of the Welcome group of mines in Weaver district. The Welcome group is located about one and one-half miles northwest of the town of Stanton and only a few miles from the Congress mine, adjoining the Marcus.
A vertical shaft has been sunk and as there is a dip to the ledge the shaft below seventy feet does not follow the ledge. At every fifty feet of depth cross cuts are run from the shaft to the vein and good ore is encountered at every point. The ore is very high grade and as far as development has progressed the property is in fine condition and makes an excellent showing for a good mine. A peculiarity of the ore and one which exists in only one other in this section, in the Crowned King mine, is that with depth the solid ore becomes more free than it is near the surface.-Journal-Miner.
