When Cowboy Bob Ellis
Meets Dick The Bruiser
There will be plenty of fireworks in the Atlanta city auditorium Friday night when Cowboy Bob Ellis meets Dick The Bruiser.
The bad blood between the two stemmed from their meeting here two weeks ago. The two men met here for the American Association title in one of the roughest affairs to ever hit the auditorium. The match ended with Cowboy Bob Ellis being disqualified much to the dissatisfaction of both wrestlers who wanted to continue. Promoter Paul Jones was quick to sign the men for a rematch for the first open date at the city auditorium.
The match this Friday night will be a no disqualification affair. There will be no referee in the ring and the ring is to be enclosed with steel wire so there will be no chance of the Bruiser getting out to take a count. The title will also be at stake in this one so the fans can expect another bruising battle.
The all star supporting card will feature a Southern Tag Team Championship event with Skull Murphy and Gypsy Joe the champions defending their title and trophy against Chief Little Eagle and young Guy Mitchell. Mitchell has shown a lot of ability since his arrival in this area a short time ago and with the flashy Indian as a team partner, we may see a change in tag team champions.
Two newcomers will be making first appearances here with Jolly Charlie.. The Wrestling Tramp, meeting Jim Burke and Bob Rasmussen a highly touted wrestler from Minneapolis meeting Tiny Evans. Action starts at 8:30. Friday night at the City Auditorium.
