With the resignation of Roy P. Gordon, the Municipal Council will lose some of its "spice", Governor de Castro declared Monday night at Caribbean Hotel at a dinner held in honor of the retiring legislator.
The Governor, who praised Mr. Gordon for his services in the legislature, and particularly for the part he played in the sponsorship of social legislation during the past decade, wished him "success and happiness" in his new job as General Manager of the St. Thomas Development Authority.
Council Chairman Omar Brown and Judge Herman E. Moore also commended Mr. Gordon for his long service in the legislature. In responding, Mr. Gordon declared that he could not think of any field in which a young man could make a bigger contribution to his fellow men and at the same time acquire well rounded experience than in the legislature.
