Youth Becomes of Age

Youth is confronted with some mighty big problems today. They are fast lowering the time when they become of age. Youth wants to and tells you they shall and must live their own lives. They simply cannot harmonize your old time ideas of religion and morality. And right there is where the parents should step in and exercise every ounce of moral courage they possess. Because youth forgets or does not fully realize there is but one idea of morality, and that way is either right or wrong. Whenever we try to find some midway ground for right or wrong—there is going to be some confusion. Whenever we seek to change or alter time honored customs and traditions, we are changing the orderly process of life. We live our own lives when we are led to act, to speak and to move in accordance with our higher spiritual selves.

When youth has grown to full maturity and begins to revel in the past, he begins to thank God for a father or mother who had the moral courage to gently lead him all the way. Often has a father or mother stood between love and duty, and received the dart which would have pierced the heart of a loved one. You ask, is it worth while? Is the hope of reward the price you ask for all you give, for the darts you receive? Love is a costly thing. That love which comes to you free of pain and sorrow is soon forgotten. That is why Christ loves all mankind, because he suffered so much pain. That is why a woman's love remains indelibly stamped in her heart—the grief, the pain and suffering she pays for it.

Youth wants to and feels that they must follow the crowd, and like little insects there they cling until they are buried beneath the swirling human mass. But those bold and daring enough to still chart their course in the ways of time honored customs and traditions are cheered on by the mighty wave of the masses as they constantly sing the praises of those who have found the way—a living message to those who have not lost all hope.
