FREEDOM

The Massachusetts Department of the American Legion has taken a most commendable step in urging that each of its 450 Posts sponsor refugee families, now in European refugee camps, for settlement in the United States. Such sponsorship would enable many who have had to flee persecution in Communist-run areas to establish homes here with dependable backing. It would be a service alike to patriotism and humanity.

Thousands of these fugitives possess every requisite for good and useful citizenship. They should be given the opportunity to live in freedom.
