The trial of Charles Gibbs in the U. S. Circuit Court yesterday on the indictment charging him with the murder of William Roberts, mate of the brig Vineyard, resulted in his conviction. The case was given to the jury about a quarter before ten last night, who brought in their verdict at a quarter after twelve this morning.

The prisoner's counsel, Messrs. Patren and Staple, discharged the trust assigned them by the Court with fidelity and ability. The injunction imposed upon the publication of the testimony is not removed, as it is the intention of the District Attorney to try the prisoners upon most of the other indictments.
