Racine Picnic
Has Sports For
Old and Young

Two thousand cooperators and
friends from far and near attended the largest and most
successful co-op picnic ever
held in the history of the Racine ConsumersCooperative,
Sunday, August 4th.
There were games, contests,
prizes, and recreation of all
kinds for young and old. For
example there was the bell-
strike for those who felt extra
strong: pony rides for the kids;
bingo for the young and
old; dart prize games; target gun
prize games, etc. There were
soft ball games for single and
married women and for single
and married men.
Late in the afternoon over 50
prizes were awarded to old and
new cooperators by Manager
Katt. The grand prize, a waffle
iron, was given to Mrs. Walter
Johanson for having the highest
total patronage in the year 1939.
Coming the longest distance
to the picnic this year was
Christ Jorgenson and family, all
the way from Louisville, Ky.
