Sales tax collections in Florida for the month of December, based on November sales, amounted to $11,398,826, an increase of $292,623, 2.65 per cent, over the $11,106,203 collected during the same month last year; and a decrease of $77,862, .07 per cent, under the $11,476,065 collected during the previous month of November.
(Last year, December collections were $5,412, .005 per cent, below November collections of the same year).
Sales and gasoline tax collections in December, based on November sales, in Gadsden County amount to $77,998.74 according to State Comptroller Ray E. Green.
Sales tax collections in December totaled $27,297.32; some $527.20 over the amount collected in November and $26.13 over the amount collected in December, 1957.
Of this total of $27,297.32, $21,890.82 will be returned to the county, $2,189.08 will remain with the county board and $3,217.42 will go to the State Road Department.
The gasoline tax collections in Gadsden in December amount to $50,701.42 on 427,306 gallons of gasoline. This is $1,434.44 less than was collected in November and $1,928.01 more than was collected in December, 1957.
Total sales tax collections this fiscal year, July through December in Florida, amount to $66,051,046, an increase of $4,750,250, 7.75 per cent. over the $61,300,795 collected to date last fiscal year.
