At a hearing Thursday before Judge Cockrell, Jack and Plumer Williams and Calvin Luttrell, their brother-in-law, were exonerated on the charge of killing Frank McNeal. They had been in jail ten days. The prosecution failed to produce any evidence and County Attorney Allgood, who assisted by Attorney Chas. Richardson, stated to the court that had not secured sufficient evidence to even go into a trial, and asked that the defendants be discharged. About seventy-five witnesses from the Bethesda and Singleton neighborhoods were present.
