SPRINGFIELD. August 16.

Last Sunday evening, between 8 and 9 o'clock, a new barn of 60 feet in length, containing upwards of 50 tons of good hay, and near 300 bushels of grain, the property of Mr. Ariel Cooley, an industrious farmer of this town, was struck by lightning and all consumed, his loss is estimated at near 200l. It is hoped Mr. Cooley will have his misfortune in some measure compensated, by the timely assistance of those Gentlemen, who make it a principle of doing unto others, as they would that others should do unto them, in like circumstances.
