Full Text
The following narrative was related last Sunday at Court, by a person of the most illustrious rank:
"A soldier of the regiment of horse guards, having been married on the 15th or 16th of this month, supped the same evening with his wife, in company with his father and mother-in-law, and two more of his relations. Several dishes, elegant for their rank in life, were placed on the table, and every one appeared with the greatest cheerfulness: when suddenly five of them were seized with so immoderate a fit of laughing, that they fell into convulsions. The convulsions, in a few hours, ceased, and did not return that night: but on the next day, precisely at the same hour when they first appeared, the scene was repeated, and has been continued for several days among the persons. It is to be remarked that the bride alone has not been attacked by this accident, of which the cause is unknown."
