Full Text
Philo-Cato presents his respects to the editor of the Gazette, and will take an early opportunity to furnish the editor with the history of the operations of the Branch of the Bank of the United States, from the time of its establishment in 1817, to its withdrawal in 1820. together with the causes which led to the suppression of specie payments, by the Banks of the western country, in November, 1818.
Philo-Cato is desirous that the editor of the Gazette shall be put in possession of the information referred to, inasmuch as the editor, from not being a resident of this part of Ohio, at the time, is necessarily ignorant upon the subject of which he writes. Philo-Cato will supply this information to the editor, in order that the editor shall not, like those who represent the "Agency," "depend upon his imagination for facts," "and upon instinct for information."
Philo-Cato, at present, is listening to the funeral oration of the "Mammoth," now being pronounced by "Brutus," from the Tribune of the People.
PHILO-CATO.
