Full Text
The old bridge which spans the canal at Fremont has been considered practically unsafe for the past month, owing to the washing out of the piles which supported the center beams, and the caving in of the heavy timbers at the sides. Since the first of the month the Seattle & International and the Consolidated Street Railway Company have had forces of men at work putting in new piles, strengthening the bridge and raising it several feet higher in the center. Cars are once more enabled to run with safety, and the bridge is strong enough to withstand many more floods and log jams. The work will probably be completed the last of the week.
