Another of those noble edifices devoted to the alleviation of the suffering, for which New York is acquiring a proud pre-eminence, was inaugurated with appropriate ceremonies. The building has been erected for the New York Eye Infirmary, at an expense of some forty thousand dollars, and, though small, it is admirably arranged, and is furnished with every appliance for carrying out the charitable work for which it is designed.
