Full Text

The exodus of Americans for Europe is not so large as was anticipated, especially by the managers of the steamship lines, who have entertained large ideas of a rich harvest. The steamship Great Eastern, which sailed on the 16th, with accommodations for twenty-five hundred, only took out one hundred and seventy passengers, largely made up of servants and children. The result is that her managers have reduced the price of passage about twenty-five per cent. Other lines, we perceive by the New York papers, have followed their example.
