Another Express is arrived from Lieutenant General

Stuffelen, Commandant of Oczakow, with Advice, that

Vice Admiral Bredal had sent him Notice, that the

Turkish Fleet was under sail, steering towards the

Mouth of the Borysthenes and the Bog; upon which the

said Lieutenant General immediately put the Forts on

the Banks of those Rivers in a State of Defence, and

he had Reason to believe the Infidels could make no

Descent on that Side. The Garrison of Oczakow con-
sists of 12,000 Men, and the Place is so well provided

with Ammunition and Provisions, that in Case of an

Attack, it is capable of making a long Resistance.
